“Hand in hand for local development”
Joined hands for local development was the highlights of the Governor’s visit to San Remigio last March 10, 2008 during the consultative assembly with the Governor Gwen F. Garcia, together with all Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, and local government of San Remigio, Cebu headed by Municipal Mayor Mariano R. Martinez, together with Vice Mayor Herman Antonio M. Bascon, and all Sangguiniang Bayan members.
The event was actually a synchronized activity of Gov. Gwen Garcia for consultative assembly, and the out of town session of Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by Vice Gov. Gregorio Sanchez. It’s a full force representation from Provincial Government, considering all department heads of the Province were present to answer the probable queries from the Municipal Government and barangay captains. The main focused of discussions, was on infrastructure projects for the Municipality, which relative to the rehabilitation and concreting of roads, rehabilitation of school buildings, electrification projects in different barangays. Gov. Garcia, emphasized her benevolent support to the LGUs’ initiative in technical education training and congratulated the Municipality as newly accredited and approved Technical School of TESDA in Northern Cebu. A month ago, she already approved and ready for release the welding machine in augmentation to the needs of San Remigio in technical training program.
As promised during the previous visit of the First Lady Governor of Cebu, Gov. Gwen F. Garcia handed to Mayor Mar Martinez the check amounting to ONE MILLION PESOS (P1,000,000.00) intended for the construction of Birthing Station. She also affirmed the immediate release in completion of San Remigio National High School covered court, and construction of two-room school building.
The event was also participated in by all department heads of San Remigio, the academe, private sectors in locality, CEBECO II representatives which offered free labor in all electrification projects in the Province, and all barangay captains of San Remigio, which brought consultative assembly more successful and productive.
